Human Resources Generalist

People Operations | Full-Time, Exempt | Salary Range: $68,000 - $89,000Core Responsibilities: Payroll administration (biweekly processing, tax compliance, wage & hour compliance), benefits coordination (enrollment, COBRA, leave administration), HRIS management (Paycom), employee onboarding and offboarding, personnel file maintenance, and compliance support. Experience:Minimum 3 years executing HR operations with direct ownership of payroll and benefits administration. This means you processed payroll, not assisted someone who did. You administered benefits enrollment, not supported the person who did. You owned outcomes, not tasks. Healthcare or senior living experience preferred. Documented experience managing multi-state payroll, union reporting, or prevailing wage compliance strengthens candidacy. Technical Execution:Proficiency in HRIS systems required (Paycom experience preferred). Advanced Excel capability—pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation. Working knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, ACA, COBRA, and DC employment law sufficient to flag issues and execute compliance requirements. Leadership Accountability:Must demonstrate ownership of a process with measurable outcomes where your execution directly affected employee paychecks, benefits coverage, or regulatory compliance. Education & Credentials:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience considered.PHR, SHRM-CP, or CPP certification is valued but not required.
