Managing Attorney (one step down from Partner) – Employment Litigation (Wage & Hour & PAGA)(Plaintiff-Side | Remote within California)About The RoleOur client, a top-tier California plaintiff-side employment law firm, is expanding its litigation team and seeking Counsel to Managing Attorney level attorneys with 5+ years of California wage & hour employment litigation experience.The firm focuses exclusively on wage & hour class actions and PAGA matters and offers attorneys the opportunity to work on high-impact cases, earn exceptional compensation, and enjoy a remote-first work environment.While the firm is plaintiff-side, candidates coming from employment defense backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply due to the quality of training and litigation rigor they bring. Prior plaintiff-side experience is not required.Attorneys may work fully remote anywhere in California, with only 1 office visit a month to Los Angeles expected.Compensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $140,000 – $250,000Total Compensation Potential: Top performers earn mid- to high-six figures ($500K+)Additional CompensationPercentage of firm recovery on cases handledDiscretionary quarterly bonusesReferral bonusesBenefits Include401(k)Health, dental, and vision insurance (50% coverage including dependents)Flexible time offRemote-first work modelWhy This OpportunityHigh Earnings Without Billable Hours: Plaintiff-side recoveries often exceed traditional defense compensation structures.Remote Flexibility: Work from anywhere in California with minimal in-office expectations (typically once every 4–6 weeks for senior attorneys).Career Growth: Clear paths to leadership and team-lead roles.Recession-Resistant Practice: Wage & hour and PAGA litigation dominate California court dockets.Sophisticated Litigation: Ideal for attorneys who enjoy complex, high-stakes employment litigation.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a caseload of approximately 30-40 wage & hour and PAGA matters after onboarding.Draft pleadings, motions, and written discovery.Take and defend depositions.Appear at hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.Communicate effectively with clients, co-counsel, and opposing counsel.Qualifications5+ years of California wage & hour employment litigation experience (class actions and/or PAGA).Plaintiff-side or employment defense experience accepted.Strong litigation fundamentals, including discovery, motion practice, and depositions.Desire to focus long-term on wage & hour and PAGA litigation.Active California Bar license.Ability to work remotely within California with occasional travel.This role is best suited for attorneys trained in firm-based litigation environments.Work LocationRemote within CaliforniaOptional access to Los Angeles officeInitial onboarding includes brief in-person training in Los Angeles
