Lead Design Engineer

Senior Design Engineer Location: Waterloo, Iowa Salary: $80,000-$100,000 plus 10% bonus Job Summary The Senior Design Engineer will collaborate with a team of up to 10 Design Engineers responsible for designing mechanical products and systems to meet customer needs and expectations. Job Duties & Responsibilities Plan and complete engineering projects by studying customer requirements and market demand. Evaluate mechanical systems and products by conducting research programs. Develop mechanical products by testing manufacturing and assembly methods. Develop manufacturing processes to focus on cost reduction and process improvement. Assure system and product quality by designing testing methods. Prepare product reports by analyzing information and trends. Maintain engineering information and product reputation by complying with regulations. Maintain system and product database by entering data. Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required. Senior-level Engineer with 5+ years experience. Heavy haul trailer engineering experience preferred. Heavy equipment engineering experience a plus. Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Excel and Design software systems. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Analytical and technical skills required. Functional understanding of cost accounting. Experience with lean enterprise principles. Ability to learn new tools and systems quickly. Salary: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00
