This will be a hybrid role, splitting your time between your home office and our Raleigh, NC office. Candidates must already reside in the area to be considered, as we are unable to offer relocation assistance at this time.In this role, you will be a technical authority for the design, reliability, scalability, and security of ShareFile’s identity and authentication platform. You will contribute to evolution of our authentication architecture, ensuring secure, seamless access for millions of users across enterprise SaaS environments.In This Role, You WillDesign, build, and maintain scalable, reliable full stack software solutions across frontend, backend, and APIsTake ownership of complicated, ambiguous, or open-ended technical problems and drive them through design and deliveryAct as an owner of the codebase and services, balancing time, cost, quality, and long-term maintainabilityDrive technical design discussions within the team and make decisions that reduce the cost of future changesPartner with product, design, and engineering teammates to deliver solutions aligned with customer, business, and company goalsContribute to and improve engineering standards across development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational supportTroubleshoot production issues, lead preventative follow-up improvements, and contribute to reliable on-call practicesUse AI tools thoughtfully to accelerate prototyping, improve delivery workflows, and evaluate outputs for quality, risks, and maintainabilityCreate and share reusable documentation, technical guidance, and team practices that help other engineers work more effectivelyMentor junior engineers, provide actionable feedback, and contribute to a strong collaborative engineering cultureHelp drive technical visibility by communicating progress, risks, tradeoffs, and limitations clearly to teammates and stakeholdersSupport project execution across multiple engineers and contribute to interviews, including problem-solving and technical design discussionsYour Background4+ years of professional software engineering experience building and delivering production softwareStrong full stack development experience across backend services, APIs, and modern frontend applicationsProficiency in one or more backend languages such as C#, Java, Go, or Node.jsExperience building modern web applications using frameworks such as ReactSolid understanding of software design, system architecture, testing strategy, and engineering best practicesExperience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCPFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and modern development workflowsExperience troubleshooting production issues in distributed systemsAbility to assess technical risks, communicate tradeoffs clearly, and make sound decisions in ambiguous situationsStrong collaboration, communication, and mentoring skillsAdditionally, It Would Be Beneficial If You HaveExperience in SaaS or other cloud-based product environmentsFamiliarity with security best practices in application developmentExperience creating technical documentation such as design docs, runbooks, or API documentationExperience improving developer productivity through automation, tooling, or lightweight process improvementsExperience using AI tools effectively in software development workflowsStrong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindsetBase Salary Range: $150,235 - $177,000This position is also eligible to participate in our performance-based annual corporate bonus plan. Final base compensation is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, education, demonstrable experience, and allowance for future and continued salary growth.
