Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead industrial piping and mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has experience with industrial piping systems, fabrication, and mechanical installations and is comfortable managing projects ranging from maintenance-driven upgrades to complex, large-scale design-build installations. This individual will play a key role in ensuring projects meet performance expectations while supporting a strong reputation for craftsmanship, safety, and reliability.
Our client is a well-established mechanical contractor specializing in high-pressure piping, industrial process systems, in-shop and field fabrication, and equipment installation. The company serves industries such as manufacturing, energy, food processing, and industrial processing facilities where uptime, safety, and precision are critical.
Key Responsibilities
Manage industrial mechanical and piping projects from preconstruction through completion
Coordinate with field crews, fabrication shop personnel, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and clients
Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost controls
Oversee installation of piping systems including steam, condensate, ammonia refrigeration, and process piping
Review project drawings, P&IDs, and specifications to ensure scope accuracy and constructability
Adapt to evolving project conditions, schedules, and design changes
Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, safety programs, and industry codes
Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
Manage procurement of materials, fabricated systems, and mechanical equipment
Monitor project progress, fabrication timelines, and installation quality
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in mechanical project management within industrial or commercial construction
Experience managing piping, fabrication, or mechanical system installation projects
Strong knowledge of industrial piping systems (high-pressure, steam, condensate, refrigeration)
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications
Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple projects simultaneously
Preferred
Experience with high-pressure piping systems or ASME-related work
Background in shop fabrication (pipe, structural steel, or modular skids)
Experience with boilers, pressure vessels, or equipment installation
