Role: Security Operations Engineer (Remote)Location: Remote (Work from Anywhere)Payout: $30 - $100 /hourRole Overview:We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a SecOps Engineer to work on a contractor basis. In this role you will apply deep security expertise to protect the training pipelines and evaluation environments that power next‑generation AI models. Your work will directly influence how artificial intelligence systems learn, reason, and perform across high‑impact domains such as finance, healthcare, and engineering. The position blends traditional application security practices with cutting‑edge AI platform requirements, offering a rare chance to shape security standards in a rapidly evolving field.Key Responsibilities:• Perform expert‑level secure code reviews focused on OWASP Top 10 and CWE vulnerability classes, documenting findings for remediation teams.• Identify, triage, and remediate application‑layer vulnerabilities including broken access control, IDOR, SQL injection, command injection, and deserialization flaws.• Develop and maintain security automation tools using Python, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript to streamline vulnerability detection, reporting, and remediation workflows.• Conduct comprehensive penetration tests on AI‑related services, produce detailed reports, and collaborate cross‑functionally to drive timely fixes.• Advise development teams on secure coding practices, integrating security considerations early in the software development lifecycle.• Design reusable scripts and libraries that integrate with CI/CD pipelines to enforce security gates automatically.• Participate in incident response drills, providing forensic analysis and recommendations to improve future resilience.Required Skills & Qualifications:• Demonstrated experience conducting secure code reviews and vulnerability assessments on web‑based applications, with a focus on OWASP Top 10 and CWE taxonomy.• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript, enabling the creation of custom security tooling and automation.• Hands‑on experience with penetration testing methodologies, including the use of tools like Burp Suite, Metasploit, or similar frameworks.• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, and session management mechanisms, and the ability to spot insecure implementations.• Excellent communication skills for documenting findings, presenting remediation strategies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration platforms, and how security controls apply within them.• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining high productivity and meeting defined deliverables.More About the Opportunity:This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a global leader in the artificial intelligence industry that connects domain experts to the development of frontier AI models.
