The successful candidate will have the following key accountabilities:Comply with applicable MSHA regulations as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and procedures applying to the worker or person that are part of a safety and health management system for the mineCarry out the activities in a way that does not expose the worker or someone else to an unacceptable level of riskAdhere to site procedures and instructions given by supervisorsOperate equipment in a safe manner which is most efficient and reduces damage, downtime, and quality issuesComplete required paperwork in an orderly, accurate, and professional fashionAssist with any continuous improvement projects as necessaryPerform all other duties as needed or assignedThe successful incumbent will have the following minimum qualifications:High School diploma or GED requiredPrevious experience in an industrial environment is a plusBasic computer skills and data entry are requiredPrevious experience operating heavy equipment is a plusPrevious experience within mining operations a plusMust possess the ability to perform in a physically demanding environmentCommitment to Our CultureOur core values - Safety, Team, Customers, Growth, and Courageguide our work every day and will help us achieve our vision: Covia is the leading minerals solutions provider, and through the passion and commitment of our people, we enable customer successensuring a sustainable future for our company.
