Tax Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Tax Analyst to support a high-volume indirect tax environment in Charlotte, North Carolina. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, can work independently, interpret complex tax data, and maintain accuracy across a large monthly return volume. The role focuses on corporate and indirect tax activities, with an emphasis on compliance, reporting, and the manual gathering of information needed to complete filings.Responsibilities:• Prepare and review a large volume of indirect tax returns each month while maintaining accuracy and meeting filing deadlines.• Collect, organize, and validate tax-related data from multiple sources to support timely and complete return preparation.• Manage corporate and indirect tax compliance activities in accordance with applicable regulations and internal standards.• Use Avalara to support tax calculations, reporting processes, and compliance workflows.• Investigate discrepancies in tax data and resolve issues by coordinating with relevant stakeholders.• Maintain detailed records and supporting documentation for filings, reconciliations, and audit readiness.• Monitor recurring manual processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency within the tax reporting cycle.• 7+ years of experience in tax, with a strong background in corporate and indirect tax compliance.• Demonstrated experience preparing and managing high-volume tax filings in a deadline-driven environment.• Hands-on proficiency with Avalara and its use in tax reporting or compliance operations.• Solid understanding of indirect tax principles, regulations, and filing requirements.• Strong analytical skills with the ability to review detailed financial or transactional data accurately.• Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively in a manual processing environment.• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams to gather required tax information.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
