Position: COOK 1 PositionFLSA: Part-Time/Non-Exempt/Grant Funded 25.00 Hours/WeekSalary Range: $16.00/HourlyDepartment: Senior ServicesLocation:Mimbres Senior Center Reports To: Site LeadDeadline: Open until filledPOSITION SUMMARY:Under the direction of the Senior Center Site Lead and Program Coordinator, performs functions related to meal preparation for congregate and home-delivered meals for participants and clients of the Senior Program in accordance with local, state and federal guidelines. This role ensures food safety and cleanliness in the kitchen, maintains a pleasant dining experience for participants, and may assist with menu planning and inventory. Note: This position is funded through external grant funds and is contingent upon the availability of such funding. DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:Valid New Mexico Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Valid Food Handler's Permit/Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). High School Diploma or GED Certificate.At least one (1) year of experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen is preferred.Experience working with seniors is a plus.The application must be accompanied by a copy of the valid Driver's license and high school diploma or equivalent.
