Performs a wide variety of test ordering and clerical duties as required. Performs specimen processing to include: - accessioning of orders, processing of clinical specimens in preparation for departing to HNL processing facility. Projects a positive image of the Medical Center with a focus on patient care and customer relations. Serves as a liaison between LVHN- Pocono and its counterparts/customers while aiding with inquires or concerns.Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma/GED and1 year orProficient computer skills required. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.Knowledge of best practices and regulation of blood drawing techniques and collection.Course work or previous medical terminology experience.Good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and providers.Ability to build comprehensive reports and effectively convey information to others.Knowledge of safety guidelines, utilization of proper PPE and sanitization processes.Must successfully complete appropriate training and achieve proficiency at the end of 90 days.American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 90 DaysDL - Driver's License_PA - State of PennsylvaniaPreferred Qualifications Technical School Diploma Successful completion of an approved phlebotomy training course or 1-year previous work experience as a phlebotomist.CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification - State of Pennsylvania orPBT - Phlebotomy Laboratory Technician ASCP - State of PennsylvaniaPhysical Demands Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.Job Description Disclaimer: This position description provides the major duties/responsibilities, requirements and working conditions for the position.
