Animator / Illustrator

Our Non-profit client is seeking an Animator with a Flat 2D Illustrative style (think Only Murders In the Building title sequence) to create a 1-2 minute animated video that will be cut into 80-90 second clips. The ideal Animator will have a strong background with storytelling and a focus on nature scenes. This is a project based request likely to run through June 9th working 40 hrs/week for 3 weeks. Key ResponsibilitiesCreate high-quality illustrations, character designs, backgrounds, and layout assets for animation.Produce 2D animations using a variety of techniques including frame-by-frame, cutout, and rig-based workflows.Develop motion graphics and compositing sequences in After Effects and Premiere Pro to support video as necessary.Collaborate with Director of Video/Photo to interpret briefs, refine storyboards, and deliver creative solutions.Plan and execute storyboards, animatics, timing sheets, and layout to establish pacing and composition.Manage texturing, lighting, rendering, and color correction to ensure visual consistency and polish.Export and encode final assets optimized for various sizes, maintaining appropriate formats and compression.Maintain organized project files, version control, and documentation to support efficient handoffs and revisions.Qualifications5+ years of professional experience in illustration and 2D animation, or equivalent portfolio demonstrating strong skills.Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Animate, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Premiere Pro or other comparable software. Strong understanding of animation fundamentals, timing & spacing, and motion principles.Skilled in frame-by-frame animation, cutout animation, vector illustration, and storyboarding.Experience with texturing, lighting, rendering, compositing, color correction, and motion graphics.Familiarity with video encoding, bitrate, and delivery specifications.Excellent communication, time management, and collaboration skills; ability to accept feedback and iterate quickly.A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing animation, motion graphics, and finished illustration work.In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.BenefitsCreative Circle's Freelance Employee benefits package includes eligibility for Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) medical plan, dental/vision/term life package, discount prescription program, critical illness, accident, tele-behavioral health, and 401(k) plan.
