Maintenance Technician Supervisor
Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician Supervisor to lead hands-on maintenance operations in a fast-paced, high-performance manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a technically strong leader who thrives on solving complex equipment issues, driving uptime, and developing high-performing maintenance teams.You will oversee maintenance activities across multiple production areas, including advanced manufacturing processes and custom equipment systems. Success in this role requires both deep technical expertise and the ability to lead from the front—coaching teams, troubleshooting critical issues, and ensuring operational continuity.Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & DevelopmentSupervise, schedule, and develop maintenance technicians across multiple shifts and facilitiesProvide hands-on coaching in troubleshooting, safety practices, and technical skill developmentManage performance, training, and continuous improvement of the maintenance teamEnsure adequate shift coverage, including support for off-hours and emergency responseEquipment Reliability & PerformancePerform and oversee troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systemsDiagnose and resolve issues on complex, custom manufacturing equipment with urgencyLead preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptimeConduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrenceDrive initiatives to improve equipment reliability, throughput, and product qualityMaintenance OperationsManage maintenance planning and execution for routine, emergency, and shutdown workEnsure accurate documentation of maintenance activities using CMMS systemsMaintain and optimize spare parts inventory and procurement processesEnforce safety standards including lockout/tagout, confined space, and hazardous materials protocolsCommunicate maintenance metrics, updates, and priorities to leadership and stakeholdersCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with production, engineering, quality, and facilities teams to prioritize and execute maintenance workSupport equipment installations, upgrades, and capacity expansion initiativesCoordinate with external vendors and service providers as neededMinimize production disruption through effective planning and communicationQualificationsRequired:High school diploma or equivalent5+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment3+ years of supervisory or team leadership experienceStrong troubleshooting expertise across mechanical, electrical, and automated systemsExperience working with custom or proprietary manufacturing equipmentAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and P&IDsProven ability to perform under pressure in production-critical environmentsPreferred:Technical certification, associate degree, or journeyman trade certificationExperience with PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, motor controls, and HMIsBackground in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., cleanroom, filtration, injection molding, or similar)Familiarity with preventative/predictive maintenance methodologiesExperience using CMMS platformsConventional machining capabilitiesForklift certificationCore CompetenciesStrong leadership and team development capabilitiesAdvanced problem-solving and root cause analysis skillsHigh attention to detail and documentation accuracyExcellent communication and cross-functional collaborationSafety-first mindset with a track record of complianceAbility to prioritize and execute effectively in high-pressure environmentsWhy This OpportunityThis is a high-impact leadership role within a technically advanced manufacturing operation.
