Senior Service Technician

Title: Senior Service TechnicianReports to: Senior Production ManagerLocation: Omaha, NEJob Description: The Senior Service Technician will be working onsite at a client's IT center, in Omaha, Nebraska. Sterling has continually done business year over year and holds a presence onsite working directly with clients. Sterling provides break-fix services for about 19,000 units. The onsite technician will diagnosis, order parts via Sterling's partners/vendors, complete repairs and return units to the onsite clients.This is a solo position. You will be communicating between Sterling's internal teams as well as client admins, directors and their own IT staff. The Senior Service Technician must be able to manage their own time. The Senior Service Technician will be accountable for planning daily workflow. Anticipating the needs of the client and various projects is crucial for maintaining a great working relationship between Sterling and the end users.Roles and ResponsibilitiesDiagnose malfunctions of computer hardware for the purpose of determining the appropriate parts needed to complete repairsOrders necessary parts via multiple vendor websites, adhering to the policies and procedures specific to each one.Knowledge of various tools and techniques involved in computer repairAbility to disassemble and assemble a wide variety of computers for repair purposesMaintain accurate repair records using ticketing systemsManage inventory in terms of shipping, receiving, organizing and storage of goods in a client provided warehouseAbility to work with limited supervision dailyAbility to perform inventory counts and audits as neededManage and report on PM assisted projectsAbility to perform data collection and recordingQualifications and Education RequirementsMinimum 3+ years of depot and download experienceA+ certification or technical certification preferredAssociate degree or minimum of three years computer repair experience requiredA good knowledge of different computer components to assemble and disassemble a wide variety of computers a must - Dell preferred.Preferred SkillsSolid teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and work with customers, teams, and management at all levels in a cross-functional environmentExcellent oral and written communications; an ability to present and discuss departmental information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding no matter the level of audienceWorking projects and timelines for completionCritical thinking and problem solvingExcellent planning and organizational skillsWork Environment/Physical Demands:Sitting and moving for extended periods of time in a climate-controlled office environment.Must have a positive attitude and be very detail orientedSelf-starter dailyMust be able to lift 15-30 lbs.Extended periods of time utilizing hand tools needed to repair computers.Must clear criminal background check and drug testShort travel may be requiredSterling Computers Corporation ("Sterling") is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
