Your work will span the full stack with an exciting mix of classic enterprise development and modern, AI-assisted engineering practices. Key responsibilities include:Modernizing existing Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) platform features by converting JSF/Primefaces UIs into Angular-based Single Page Applications (SPA), leveraging AI-assisted analysis to support and accelerate code transformation.Rewriting backend functionality, migrating from JBoss-hosted Java applications to Spring Boot services. Utilize AI-driven code discovery, refactoring, and generation to streamline and enhance migration processes.Proactively improving application security, reliability, and maintainability by addressing vulnerabilities and code quality findings identified through enterprise governance tools.Accelerating business capability delivery by embedding AI-supported development activities, including impact analysis, automated test generation, comprehensive documentation, defect resolution, and feature implementation.Reducing technical debt and increasing developer productivity by integrating AI throughout the software development lifecycle—from requirements analysis and modernization planning to implementation and validation. Essential Skills, ExperienceTo be successful in this role, you should demonstrate proven experience and technical proficiency across the following:At least 5 years of professional experience in software development.Strong expertise in Java, Java Enterprise Edition (JEE), and hands-on Spring Boot development.Modern Angular (with TypeScript) development of Single Page Applications, ideally with migration or greenfield experience.SQL proficiency, preferably with Oracle databases.REST API design and implementation.Experience with version control systems (such as Git) and automated build and deploy pipelines.Hands-on experience using AI coding tools to support productivity, code generation, or refactoring.The following experience is considered advantageous:Proven skill modernizing or migrating legacy JEE applications to contemporary frameworks and platforms.Security scanning and vulnerability remediation with tools such as Nexus IQ or SonarQube.Cloud, messaging, identity, or analytics integration (e.g., AWS, Kafka, Okta, Snowflake).Using or implementing design systems such as Angular Material.First-hand experience with JSF/Primefaces frameworks.Understanding of insurance, financial services, or other regulated-industry requirements.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field and at least five years of professional experience; or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.ECCO Select is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
