JOB The Athletic Trainer / Associate Athletic Director is a dual-role position responsible for providing comprehensive sports medicine services to student-athletes while also supporting the overall administration and leadership of the college’s athletic department. This includes promoting student-athlete health, safety, academic success, and overall well-being. This role also supports the Athletic Director with administrative duties, including academic monitoring, event management, and student-athlete records.Salary: Appropriate placement on Bevill State Community Colleges Local Salary Schedule: C3, Rank: 04 $50,414 - $75,122Work Hours: Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and must submit a complete application packet through the on-line application system to be considered. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Athletic Training ResponsibilitiesProvide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services for all intercollegiate athletic programs.Educate student-athletes and coaches on injury prevention, nutrition, strength and conditioning principles, and overall wellness.Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential medical records in accordance with applicable state and federal laws and institutional policies.Conduct injury assessments; document care and treatment plans; communicate student-athlete status updates; and coordinate physician visits, referrals, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care.Assist the Athletic Director with processing and submitting injury-related insurance claims and required documentation.Collaborate with coaching staff to develop conditioning, nutrition, and return-to-play plans while maintaining appropriate medical oversight and confidentiality.Assist in coordinating athletic drug testing and substance abuse education programs.Develop, implement, and regularly review emergency action plans for all athletic facilities and events.Manage the inventory, maintenance, and procurement of athletic training supplies and medical equipment.Travel with athletic teams as scheduling permits and provide on-site athletic training coverage for practices, games, and tournaments.Ensure compliance with professional standards and licensure requirements, including those established by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and applicable state regulatory agencies. Participate in professional development activities to maintain required credentials and remain current with best practices in athletic training and collegiate athletics.Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or President.Associate Athletic Director ResponsibilitiesAssist the Athletic Director with daily operations, long-range planning, and strategic initiatives of the athletic department.Support compliance efforts related to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC), and institutional policies and regulations.Assist in organizing, reviewing, and maintaining student-athlete records to ensure compliance with audit, conference, and regulatory standards.Monitor and communicate student-athlete academic performance to coaches and the Athletic Director in a timely and professional manner.Assist with coordination of game-day operations, including scheduling, staffing, and event supervision.Lead or support departmental initiatives related to marketing, community engagement, fundraising, and facility operations.Represent the college at conference meetings, community functions, and institutional committees as assigned.Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or President.
