Lead Med Surg unit operations to meet daily patient care targets and staffing plans.Monitor unit metrics (AHT, length of stay, readmission rates) and adjust workflows.Ensure compliance with clinical policies, safety standards, and accreditation requirements.Coordinate multidisciplinary rounds to ensure timely patient progress and discharges.Mentor and develop nursing staff through coaching and performance feedback.Drive continuous improvement projects to optimize patient throughput and care quality.Communicate unit goals, performance results, and risk factors to leadership and stakeholders.Oversee admission, transfer, and discharge processes to optimize patient flow.Manage unit budgets, supply utilization, and cost-control initiatives.Develop and implement action plans to meet growth targets and expand service offerings.Foster a high-performance culture with clear accountability and merit-based recognition.Collaborate with external partners and teams to support scalable growth in the unit.Experience/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related healthcare field.New or current RN licensure with active state board registration.Minimum 2 years Med Surg or inpatient unit leadership experience.Excellent knowledge of clinical policies, safety standards, and accreditation requirements.Proven ability to manage staffing, scheduling, and budget within a Med Surg unit.Strong data literacy; ability to monitor AHT, LOS, readmission metrics and act on insights.Experience leading multidisciplinary rounds and discharge planning.Demonstrated mentoring and performance feedback coaching for nursing staff.Track record of leading continuous improvement projects and patient throughput optimization.Strong communication skills with ability to report unit goals and risks to leadership.What's in it for you?
