This includes the rehabilitation of patients with various developmental, cognitive, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy interventions.Responsibilities Assess patients and interpret evaluation and test results to develop treatment plans in consultation with physicians. Set realistic treatment goals based on each patient's physical and mental abilities and needs. Document patient care services in electronic health records (EHR). Evaluate patient progress and adjust therapy plans as necessary to promote maximum independence. Provide specialty services including custom orthoses, cognitive treatment, and activities of daily living. Maintain the organization of the Occupational Therapy program for both outpatients and inpatients. Ensure compliance with federal and state occupational therapy requirements and adhere to the Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics. Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives within the occupational therapy service. Consult with the rehabilitation team and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an ACOTE accredited institution. Valid and unrestricted Occupational Therapy license from a state within the U.S., District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
