BREWER SCHOOL DEPARTMENT 2026-2027Deaf Education Program (DEP) - Education Technician III 2026-2027 rate of pay ranges from $24.20 to $31.46 per hour, plus 95% employer paid single healthinsurance coverage and 100% employer paid dental insurance coverage, with dependent coverages availablePreferred Candidate Will DemonstrateState of Maine Ed Tech III certification and current CHRCExperience working with students with various disabilities and needs related to: deaf / hard of hearing, academics, life skills, social, emotional, and behavioral regulation Fluent in American Sign Language is preferred; a commitment to learn is requiredExperience supporting bilingual communication (English and ASL)Experience planning and delivering specialized instruction in reading, writing, math, and social skills Experience working with students in a classroom and/or vocational setting Ability to support and follow Individual Education Programs, health, and positive behavior plansAbility to plan and execute curriculum and track student performance/dataAbility to follow and provide consistent routines and schedules A calm, patient and positive demeanor is essentialExcellent interpersonal / professional communication and leadership skillsAbility to work collaboratively on a team of providers and specialistsAbility to support and carry out personal care needs for students which may involve hygiene, lifting, position transfers, etc.A valid State of Maine driver’s license is requiredA background in crisis management, emotional de-escalation and/or Safety Care training is preferredGDA-R Regulation Ed Tech III or GDA-R Regulation Ed Tech III - ASL SigningApplications will be accepted until a suitable candidate is found.Applications are available at the Superintendent’s office, Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 4:00pm or from our website.
