Software Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Software Administrator to support a large-scale State Government technology modernization initiative.📍 Location: Chicago, IL – Primarily Remote🏢 Onsite: Approximately 40 days annually📅 Type: Full-Time / Contract💼 Experience: 5+ Years🔹 Key Responsibilities• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain enterprise software platforms• Administer environments across Unix, Linux, and Windows• Support Development, Testing, UAT, and Production environments• Manage application deployments, releases, and environment readiness• Troubleshoot software and application platform issues• Support change management, incident response, and root cause analysis• Monitor system performance, availability, and operational health• Maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and support teams• Support security, compliance, and operational governance requirements🔹 Required Skills✅ 5+ years of Software/System Administration experience✅ Strong experience with Unix/Linux/Windows environments✅ Enterprise or government technology experience✅ Software installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades✅ Application deployment and environment management✅ Development, Testing, UAT & Production support✅ Change and release management experience✅ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills⭐ Preferred• Previous State Government client/project experience – Required• Public sector consulting experience• Healthcare, Medicaid, or Human Services experience• Middleware administration• DevOps / automation• PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting• ITIL / service management• Enterprise monitoring tools• Large-scale technology modernization experience📩 Interested?
