Middle School & High School Track and Field Coach

Location: Rudolf Steiner School, New York, NY Season Dates: March 2, 2026 - May 8, 2026Practice Location: Central Park - Great LawnCompensation: $3,000 StipendPosition OverviewRudolf Steiner School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Track and Field Coach to lead our Middle School and High School athletes during the spring season. The coach will be responsible for developing athletes' skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting sportsmanship in a supportive and inclusive environment. This role is ideal for someone passionate about youth development and committed to creating a positive athletic experience for student-athletes of varying ability levels.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and lead engaging, developmentally appropriate practices for middle and high school athletesTeach fundamental track and field skills, including running mechanics, conditioning, relays, and field event basics as applicablePrepare athletes for interscholastic competition, including meet preparation and strategySupervise and coach athletes during practices and meetsPromote teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growthCommunicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and the Athletic DepartmentEnsure the safety and well-being of all participantsAssist with equipment management and general program organizationPractice & Meet SchedulePractices: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PMLocation: Central Park Great LawnMeets: Typically held on weekdays in the late afternoonSeason Duration: March 2 through May 8, 2026QualificationsPrevious coaching experience in track and field or related sport preferredExperience working with middle and/or high school students strongly preferredStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to motivate and support student-athletes of all skill levelsCommitment to fostering an inclusive and positive team cultureCPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)Compensation$3,000 stipend for the full seasonPayment issued according to school payroll scheduleTo be considered for this position, please send a letter of interest, a resume, and contact information for three references to our employment page.
