Job Title: Vice President, Chief Financial OfficerLocation: Las Vegas, NV (Day 1 Onsite)Job Type: Full TimeJob Description:Plans, directs and controls the organization's overall financial plans and policies, accounting practices.Oversees development of annual budget and preparation of 10-year business planLinks business strategy with financial planning.Manages the relationships with lending institutions and the financial community.Provides expert witness testimony in general rate cases or other regulatory proceedings.Liaises with company's businesses and corporate functions to support performance management and advises best practice and process methodology.Oversees the approval and processing of revenue, expenditure, and position control documents, department budgets, ledger, and account maintenance and data entry.Oversees completion of federal and state tax returns and file and remit state and local governments all tax reports (income, property, sales, excise, etc.).Oversees the preparation of financial statements, internal and external financial reports, special analyses, and information reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP, SEC, FERC or other accounting and reporting requirements.Establishes and implements short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures for the Finance Organization.Directs the provision of full performance reporting services to executives.Establishes and maintains appropriate internal control safeguards.Interacts with other managers to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations.Represents the company on various internal boards including company board of directors.Manages, mentors and evaluates employees.Specialized Knowledge and SkillsDemonstrated knowledge of:Finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting PrinciplesRegulated utility business acumenCompany strategic plan, regulatory and political environmentCompany policies, procedures and practices, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Demonstrated skills such as:Establishing objectives, developing and executing policiesDirecting and monitoring resources; recommending and overseeing development and implementation of systems, programs, or processesDeliver quality results at pace, manage parallel processes, and consistently meet tight deadlinesMotivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projectsParticipate in and facilitate group meetingsAnalytical, interpersonal and communication.Equipment and Applications:PCs, word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
