Be a part of the Dougherty Difference!Job Description: Trim and grind activities of fiberglass as required by the customer and/or for production. The following are the duties and responsibilities of the Trim and Grind Technician:Trim, cut and grind molded fiberglass components preparatory to assembly - using hand tools and portable power toolsRemove excess fiberglass and smooth edges prior to assembly and/or finishingPreform structural repairs using specific fixtures or templates Operate and maintain power tools not limited to drills, sanders, saws, grinders and hoistsCheck completed products for conformity and repair or modify discrepancies if detectedPerform other duties as assigned by management, supervisors and/or managementPhysical RequirementsPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements include respirators, gloves, safety glassesHave the ability to work in a hot and humid non-climate controlled environment.Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reaching, climbing on and through stairs, and molds, throughout the duration of your shift.Moderate lifting ability up to 50 lbs.Ability to work in a fast paced, noisy environmentHave the flexibility to work overtime both planned and unplanned to meet company goals.Skills RequiredMust follow all safety standards and procedures; including chemical handling standards and Personal Protective EquipmentMust adhere to all quality standards and adhere to new standards as processes evolveMust demonstrate record of dependability and reliability with prior work or professional experienceMust demonstrate the ability to work well with teams professional or otherwiseUnderstand and follow verbal and written directionsAbility to use hand, battery, and pneumatic toolsAbility to work in close proximity to co-workers and work in areas with limited spaceSkills in fiberglass and/or gel-coat applications requiredMust be able to speak, read, and write EnglishHigh school diploma or GED requiredShiftDay Shift: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday.
