Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Temporary Accounts Payable Specialist to support our Finance team during a major transition to a new automated Accounts Payable (AP) system. This role will work closely with our Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to ensure accurate processing, stability, and continuity throughout the system rollout.The ideal candidate has strong AP fundamentals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.This is a temporary opportunity expected to last 6-9 monthsKey ResponsibilitiesAssist with day-to-day AP processing, including invoice entry, three-way matching, and payment preparationSupport the transition to an automated AP platform, including data validation, testing, workflow review, and troubleshootingCollaborate with the Senior AP Specialist on reconciliation, issue resolution, and system change impactsHelp track, review, and document process changes related to the automation implementationMaintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal controlsCommunicate with internal departments and external vendors regarding invoice and payment inquiriesProvide coverage and administrative support as needed during the project periodRequired Qualifications1-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting supportStrong knowledge of AP processes, including invoice matching, vendor setup, and payment cyclesProficiency with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., JDE, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)Intermediate Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, and basic formulasAbility to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsComfortable working in a system-driven environment and adapting to new technologiesPreferred QualificationsExperience participating in a system implementation or process automation projectFamiliarity with automated AP platforms (e.g., Coupa, Basware, Medius, Tipalti, or similar)Prior experience in a high-volume AP departmentAbility to identify process improvements and suggest efficienciesKey CompetenciesDetail Orientation: Ensures accuracy and completeness in all AP activityAdaptability: Comfortable navigating change and learning new systemsCollaboration: Works effectively with AP team members, cross-functional departments, and vendorsAccountability: Takes ownership of tasks and meets deadlines consistentlyCritical Thinking: Helps troubleshoot discrepancies and identify root causes
