Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to join our growing medical practice. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality eye care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of ocular conditions. This role offers the opportunity to practice both medical and surgical ophthalmology in a patient-focused environment with a supportive clinical team.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive eye examinations and vision testing. Diagnose and treat ocular diseases such as:
Diabetes
Diabetic retinopathy
Glaucoma
Strabismus
Dry eye syndrome
Blepharitis
Conjunctivitis and other ocular infections
Interpret diagnostic imaging such as OCT, visual field testing, fundus photography
Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients
Perform or co-manage ophthalmic surgical procedures including cataract surgery
Perform in office/out patient procedures; Chalazion and Lesion Excisions
Perform Laser procedures YAG; PRP, SLT, Focal Laser
Prescribe medications, corrective lenses, and treatment plans
Maintain accurate and timely medical records in EMR system
Educate patients on eye health, treatment options, and preventative care
Collaborate with optometrists, technicians, and administrative staff
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Required
Doctor of Medicine (MD)
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
Active Illinois medical license or ability to obtain
Completion of accredited Ophthalmology residency
Strong clinical and surgical skills
Excellent communication and bedside manner
Preferred
Experience with cataract surgery and MIGS proceduresExperience in private practice or outpatient settingInterest in long-term patient relationships and community care
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday (8-4) Alternating Saturdays, 2 per month (8-2)
