MOSS is dedicated to delivering personalized and professional service to our clients.Role DescriptionThe Assistant Luxury Buyer & Clientele Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the curation of high-end designer collections, evaluating consignment items, and building strong relationships with clients. This position involves daily communication with consignors and customers, market research to ensure competitive pricing, and maintaining the overall organization and aesthetic of the store. Working closely with the team, the role contributes to creating an exceptional in-store shopping experience. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Austin, TX.Primary ResponsibilitiesBuying, Inventory & MerchandisingSupport the Buyer in evaluating, selecting, and pricing consigned merchandise in alignment with MOSS quality standards, brand positioning, and current market trendsAccurately and efficiently enter new inventory into the POS system, ensuring all product details and pricing are correctMaintain up-to-date knowledge of designer brands, resale values, and competitive market pricing to support strong sell-throughAssist in monitoring inventory performance and identifying opportunities to improve sell-through and product mixSupport merchandising efforts to ensure the sales floor is visually compelling, organized, and aligned with MOSS standardsConsignor & Client RelationsBuild and maintain strong relationships with consignors, delivering a consistent, elevated, and professional experienceSupport new consignor acquisition efforts to meet monthly buying and inventory intake goalsAssist in managing relationships with out-of-state consignors, including coordination of mail-in consignmentsExecute all consignor processes in accordance with MOSS policies, including onboarding, communication, and follow-upSales, Clienteling & Customer ExperienceDeliver a luxury-level client experience through personalized styling, product expertise, and proactive outreachDevelop and maintain a personal client book, fostering long-term relationships with high-value clientsCommunicate regularly with clients via email, text, phone, social media, and in person regarding new arrivals, markdowns, and store initiativesConsistently uphold and model MOSS service standards on the sales floorE-Commerce & Marketing SupportSupport Shopify webstore operations, including inventory selection, listing accuracy, and sold item processingPartner with the in-house photographer to ensure timely and on-brand product photographyAssist in preparing and executing weekly Mailchimp campaigns in alignment with inventory drops and promotionsAnalysis, Reporting & StrategyAssist in analyzing weekly and monthly sales trends and inventory performanceSupport preparation of inventory and consignment performance reports for leadership reviewContribute insights and observations to support buying and merchandising decisionsLeadership & Store OperationsCommunicate relevant product knowledge and inventory updates to the sales team to support performance and consistencyAct as Manager on Duty when needed, including opening and closing the store, overseeing cash handling, preparing deposits, and completing end-of-day reportsEnsure all store policies and procedures are followed consistentlyMaintain clear and professional communication with the Buyer, Store Manager, and leadership team regarding business needs and opportunitiesRole Focus & Time AllocationThis is a hybrid role combining buying support with luxury clienteling and sales leadership. Time allocation may shift based on seasonal needs, inventory flow, and business priorities.Core Buying & Inventory Management – 60%Support consignment selection, evaluation, and pricing in alignment with MOSS brand standards and current market demandAssist in new consignor acquisition and maintain relationships with key consignorsSupport inventory data analysis, sell-through tracking, and identification of opportunities to optimize product mixAssist with mail-in consignor outreach and coordinationAssist in preparing weekly and monthly inventory reports and identifying key trendsSupport the preparation and execution of Mailchimp campaigns tied to inventory drops and merchandising strategyHelp educate staff on incoming inventory, designers, pricing, and buying guidelinesCore Sales, Clienteling & Store Leadership – 40%Deliver high-touch luxury clienteling, including styling, wardrobe building, and proactive outreachDevelop and maintain a personal client book with consistent communicationDrive personal and support store sales through product knowledge and relationship-based sellingSupport store operations, floor leadership, and customer experience standardsCollaborate with the team on promotions, consignor outreach, and social initiativesRepresent the MOSS brand on the sales floor with professionalism, polish, and strong product knowledgeQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferredMinimum of 1 year of buying experience in luxury retail, consignment, or specialty fashion environmentsStrong background in clienteling, sales, or luxury customer serviceDeep knowledge of luxury and contemporary designers, fashion trends, and resale pricingProven ability to analyze sales data and apply insights to buying and sales strategyExceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProfessional, polished, discreet, and service-oriented demeanor suitable for high-end clienteleProficient in POS systems, Shopify, Microsoft Suite, Canva, and social media platformsAbility to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to inventory and sales floor maintenance
