Senior Staff AccountantAtlantic Medical Management (AMM) is now hiring an experienced accountant. AMM is a corporate medical management firm that is dedicated to improving patient care. Primarily responsible for assisting the Controller with the financial processes of the assigned clients/companies. Performs assigned accounting functions requiring in-depth knowledge of accounting and financial reporting systems. This is a hybrid position with occasional work in the Cary, NC office.Duties and Responsibilities:Manages the procure-to-pay process, including processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, employee expense reports, and cash disbursementsManages the accounts receivable process, including invoicing, deposits, and recording cash receiptsProcess payroll and benefits, including preparation of periodic reports and filingsPrepares bank reconciliations, month-end journal entries, account reconciliations, checklists, and financial statement schedulesManages and performs daily accounting, monthly close, quarterly, and year-end accounting routines to ensure all financial and management reporting requirements are completed in a timely and accurate mannerMonitor, manage, and communicate changes in client cash position to senior managementTracks Key Performance MetricsFamiliar with and ensuring accuracy of financial Information in various Software SystemsPresent Financials and other data to management as requiredAssists in the development and preparation of a monthly management reporting package.This position will assist the Corporate Controller in researching and documenting technical accounting issues.Analyze monthly/quarterly operations and financial performance; provide variance analysis and explanations; and complete ad hoc analyses as requested.Deliver timely financial intelligence and facilitate understanding of the cost structure of business units supported.Assists with the accurate completion of tax reporting, including sales and use tax reportingAssists in the development, implementation, and streamlining of financial accounting policies and internal controls related to general accounting activitiesAssists in budgeting, forecasting, and annual operating plan processes.Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:BS/BA in accounting and/or financeFive years related working experience, healthcare a plusMust have in-depth knowledge of GAAP accounting and financial statement reporting.Leadership and project management skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritize deadlinesStrong organizational skills and proven ability to work independently and solve problemsHighly motivated individual, self-starter that takes ownership of projects and tasksDemonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels throughout a large organization and individuals from different culturesSolid oral and written communication skills including business writing skillsMicrosoft Word and Excel experience requiredBenefits:401(k)Health, Dental and Vision insuranceEmployee assistance programAFLACPaid time offEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
