ICAO Roster-Air Traffic Services Instructor OJT/Classroom/Simulator

Job Title Under the direction of Director of the Capacity Development and Implementation Bureau (CDI), the Field Operations Section (FOS) is responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and closure of Technical Assistance (TA) and Technical Cooperation (TC) projects. It drafts agreements and aids in creating country-specific and regional projects and programs by identifying priority areas, developing objectives, activities, and deliverables, setting timelines, and specifying budgetary requirements. Additionally, under the direction of the CDI Director, the Field Personnel Section (FPS/FRU) recruits international experts to implement Capacity Development and Implementation projects across various Civil Aviation fields and manages the ICAO Roster of Experts. Major Duties and Responsibilities Conduct classroom lectures and laboratory exercises in the ATS Training Section. If required, participate in the selection and training of counterpart instructors after they have gained practical experience. Assist, if required, in setting the modalities and guidelines for arranging, preparing, conducting, and monitoring classroom framing. Assist in any necessary revision of existing curricula, syllabi, and course materials. Participate, as required, in the development and implementation of the latest instructional techniques. Perform other related duties, as assigned. Qualifications and Experience Education: University degree or appropriate professional qualifications in the field of air traffic management. Professional experience:Essential:Extensive experience as an air traffic controller in a variety of ATC activities, including both, radar and non-radar areas in either control tower, terminal or en route option. Sufficient instructional experience carried out at an established ATS training centre having the use of trainers or simulators and audio-visual aids, and shall have given instruction in instructional techniques. Experience in the preparation of training course materials, course notes, including those for radar control. Experience in programmed teaching techniques. Experience as instructor in ATS training programmes utilizing ICAO annexes and documents or publications directly derived therefrom. Languages:Essential:A good command of oral and written English. Desirable:A working knowledge of French or another official language of the Organization (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, or Spanish). Conditions of Employment It should be noted that this is a prospective position intended for experts interested in consultancy contracts. (short and long term) Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview. ICAO CDI consultants are expected to conduct themselves in a manner befitting their status as international civil servants.
