Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)- Per Diem/Part-time/Full Time

The LPN Nurse will provide guidance, oversight and services to the health services department to ensure the quality care of all residents and regulatory compliance of the assigned community. This position requires creativity and flexibility with residents who have complex situations and is at times stressful. The Licensed Practical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing the outlined services, following the nurse practice act while upholding and ensuring quality care to all Residents in their care. Completes required documentation for all assigned duties. Documents and carries all assigned tasks. In coordination with the Executive Director, provides ongoing guidance and oversight to med techs, caregivers and licensed nurses Works with onsite staff to provide adequate staffing Notifies Executive Director/Designated Nursing Director when there is not enough staff scheduled. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. Maintains confidentiality with resident and fellow employee’s information. Assists with medication pass, medication monitoring as needed. Provides delegations of duties to unlicensed staff including medications per State Board of Nursing Law. Conducts focused assessments and documents per State Board of Nursing Practice Guidelines. Works with community to complete/conduct incident/accident and/or medication error investigation and documentation. Communicates with resident/family and physicians regard care needs, incidents, etc. Adheres to dress code. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Manager or Director Routine Duties that may be asked of “As Needed” LPN/LVN: Interim HSD Delegation Nurse (as allowed by State regulations) Onsite Floor Nurse Extra Nurse for special projects (fit testing, vaccine clinics, COVID Testing, etc.) Universal Requirements: Exposure to blood/body fluid likely Exposure to communicable disease(s) likely Physical Requirements: Must be able to easily lift and carry 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop and/or bend for periods of up to eight hours with breaks as provided for in the employee handbook. Other Requirements: Must be a Licensed Nurse in the appropriate state LPN/LVN or Compact LPN/LVN if accepted by state. Has familiarity and willingness to work with elderly population. Previous experience preferred, but not necessary. Preferred proficiency in English. Attends or completes online in-services as required for position.
