The technician will handle hardware installations, upgrades, repairs, and general maintenance of data center equipment, ensuring uptime and system reliability. Additionally, they will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and adhere to best practices for operational excellence.Locations: Reston, VA | Dallas, TX | Phoenix, AZ Job Type: Full-TimeRole SummaryWe are seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to join our team in supporting large-scale Cloud and AI workloads. This is a physical role focused on the deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of critical data center infrastructure. You will be responsible for the "ground floor" of our technology, working directly with server hardware, complex networking systems, and structured cabling.Core ResponsibilitiesInfrastructure Deployment: Rack and stack servers, storage devices, and network gear according to floor plans and specifications.Cabling Management: Install, route, and manage fiber and copper cabling. Ensure all structured cabling is professionally labeled and documented.Hardware Maintenance: Assist in the troubleshooting and replacement of failed hardware components within the data center environment.Facility Support: Monitor and work with facility systems to ensure optimal operating conditions for hardware.Required Skills & ExperienceStructured Cabling: Strong proficiency in installing and routing both fiber and copper cabling.Data Center/Telecom Hardware: Hands-on experience with rack systems and hardware installation.Basic Networking: Foundational understanding of network connectivity and switch operations.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience in a colocation or enterprise data center environment.A background in low-voltage, telecom, or electrical work.Ability to perform basic network troubleshooting.Desired Certifications (A Plus)BICSI Technician (TECH)CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician – FOA)CDCP (Certified Data Centre Professional)Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Corning, CommScope/SYSTIMAX, Panduit)
