About the Opportunity:
The MANAGER, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING - EXTERNAL PLATFORM leads a team of senior engineers responsible for developing and maintaining foundational infrastructure that supports the organization's fastest-growing products. This role focuses on ensuring platform reliability and extensibility, collaborating with customers and internal stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions that enhance design and code workflows. The position is key to amplifying the impact of engineering efforts and driving strategic platform outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of engineers building critical infrastructure for AI-enabled products
- Define technical strategy in partnership with customers and internal leaders
- Manage project execution and deliverables
- Hire, coach, and develop senior and staff engineers
- Engage in technical decision-making to ensure platform robustness
- Foster an inclusive team culture through effective team-building and hiring
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years engineering management experience leading high-performing teams, preferably in AI platform contexts
- At least 8 years total engineering experience, ideally at the staff engineer level
- Experience managing platform teams with emphasis on reliability and extensibility
- Proven ability to mentor and grow engineering leaders
- Experience scaling engineering teams and organizational structures
- Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- Annual base salary range: $258,000—$376,000 USD
