Triangle is waiting for you to join our team!This is a full-time position with Los Angeles Unified School District.The ideal Junior Project Cost Estimator is an early-career construction professional with at least two years of estimating experience, strong knowledge of local labor and material costs, and the ability to create and analyze detailed cost estimates from plans and scopes.They are analytical, detail-oriented, and able to compare contractor proposals, support negotiations, and assist with change orders and claims, while communicating effectively with project teams.Responsibilities:Prepare preliminary independent cost estimates of projects for comparison with designer or contractor for PM/CM to establish negotiating position.Assist in preparing change order estimates for Owner Authorized Representatives to establish negotiating positionProvides support in price negotiationsPrepares claim analysis and estimatesPrepares detailed estimates of construction costs based on drawings, specifications and sketchesAssists in reviewing contractor's claims and proposals for merit and accountabilityConducts research on recent cost and price changes in supplies and services Required Experience:Two (2) years full-time paid professional experience in construction estimating of facilities or School Construction.Knowledge of current local construction labor and material costsExperience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change ordersAbility to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to identify differencesAbility to develop scope of work based on RFI/RFC answers and estimates the detailed costs of those scopes of work independent of the contractor proposalGood oral and written communication skillsFact-find and in-depth skills Required Education:Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, engineering, or construction management
