THE NATURE CONSERVANCY in Vermont seeks a dynamic professional to serve as its full-time Associate Director of Philanthropy. This is an exceptional career opportunity for a highly motivated, capable individual interested in joining the world's leading conservation organization.The Associate Director of Philanthropy works as a senior member of the philanthropy team. We are seeking an energetic and dedicated professional with proven success in building and sustaining relationships with influential individuals to coordinate and implement effective multi-year strategies and plans for gift prospects, including corporate, foundation, and individual donors. Our ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to conservation, the ability to build and leverage strong community relationships, work best in a flexible and changing environment, be open to developing new skills, be motivated by goals, and enjoy travelling around the state to meet with Vermonters.We have a fantastic office environment located in Montpelier, VT, and offer a competitive salary with great benefits. Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience or equivalent combination required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree and 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination.Experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with influential individuals and constituents.Experience in managing and tracking multiple prospects and donors.Experience working with cross-functional teams.Demonstrated experience using listening, diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships and motivate donors and volunteers.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONSMulti-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.Experience in asking for and closing gifts of $25,000 or more.Ability to determine an individual's interests, capacity and potential for helping the Conservancy meet its goals, and act appropriately to tie those interests with the Conservancy's work.Ability to educate and inform prospective and existing donors about appropriate giving vehicles.Ability to implement and manage fundraising plans, including individualized cultivation, solicitation and recognition plans.Knowledge of current trends in the charitable giving in the areas of capital campaigns, major gifts or planned giving.Demonstrated experience using listening, diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships and motivate donors and volunteers.Proven ability to negotiate high profile or sensitive agreements.Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles and practices.Working knowledge of the basics of charitable gift planning.3-5 years of experience with relationship building in Vermont.3 years fundraising experience in New England, preferably in Vermont or New HampshireExperience working in a team with diverse communication styles.TO APPLYFor a complete position description and to apply, visit: https://tinyurl.com/y4vutgnc .
