Our teams deliver the Holman Experience by treating our customers and each other as we would like to be treated, and creating positive, rewarding relationships all around.The automotive markets Holman serves include fleet management and leasing; vehicle fabrication and upfitting; component manufacturing and productivity solutions; powertrain distribution and logistics services; commercial and personal insurance and risk management; and retail automotive sales as one of the largest privately owned dealership groups in the United States.Leith Volkswagen of Raleigh has an outstanding opportunity for a Tech D to join their team and the Holman Family!Job Duties: Perform test drives, inspections, and other diagnostic tests on vehiclesIdentifies mechanical problems visually and/or with computer diagnostic equipmentExamines critical parts and systems using standard checklists and manufacturer guidelinesInspects internal systems and controls to ensure the vehicle is operating properly and in compliance with state regulationsFollows strategy based diagnosis protocol to identify where problems exist and determine which parts need to be repaired or replacedRecommends needed repairs or maintenance on customer or company carsRepairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical partsCompletes preventative maintenance on vehicles, such as performing oil changes, flushing and replacing fluids, tire rotation, and replacing brakesPerforms assigned repairs to factory standards and dealership specificationsFollows manufacturer and dealership repair procedures when performing any repairsConducts post-repair testing and diagnostics to confirm proper operation, that repairs have been made properly, and that problems have been resolvedAccurately identifies and list the conditions, cause and remedy (“CCR”) on repair orders, using correct grammar and professional languageEnsure that all paperwork is complete, accurate, and legible and finished in a timely fashionContinue to develop additional technical skills, as appropriate, to enable flexibility in work assignmentsMaintains knowledge of technical bulletins issued by the manufacturer and read 100% of those bulletins that apply to your own job assignmentsObtain manufacturer training and/or (ASE) certification as determined necessary by the Service ManagerMaintain a clean, safe and well organized work areaProperly maintain tools and equipment when performing service work and follow correct safety practicesPerform all other duties and special projects as assignedEducation and/or Training:Knowledge of vehicle/engine repairAdditional education, certifications, or related-experience is generally preferred; including ASE certification, OEM certification, associate’s degree in auto maintenance and repair, etc.Possess a valid driver licenseProficient with hand tools and diagnostic equipmentProficient with computer diagnostic equipment and softwareRelevant Work Experience:Knowledge of vehicle/engine repairsAbility to diagnose and repair vehicles and follow safety instructions and directionsAt Holman, we exist to provide rewarding careers and better lives for employees and their families.
