Assistant Teacher
Location: 609 Jackson Ave Bronx, NY 10455 Hours: Full Time At Sunshine Learning Center our goal is to bring joy and discovery to early-childhood education to our preschool. Sunshine Learning Center is currently seeking a passionate, nurturing, and experienced Assistant Teacher to join our preschool program. Our Assistant Teachers will: Maintain an open, friendly and cooperative relationship with each child and each child's family. Familiar with Creative Curriculum and NY common core. Consistently provide stimulating activities that will support their emotional, intellectual and social development. Encourage parental involvement in the program Nurture the parent-child bonding Promote feelings of security and trust in infants and toddlers Keep an open line of communication between families regarding their child's developmental growth and transitions Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate and individualized development plan for each child; taking care to include parents in the planning process Conduct daily safety inspection of the classroom Prepare and implement transition plans that ensure continuity of care; taking care to involve parents in in the planning of transition and taking an active role in the transition process Work with parents to increase their understanding of child development, including but not limited to development stages, developmental appropriateness, early literacy and parental involvement Monitor physical and emotional well-being of children Assess family needs Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures while supervising the children at all times Accept supervision Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and staff trainings Communicate effectively with others, including giving and receiving feedback Cooperate successfully and professionally as a member of a team Offer and collaborate ideas and materials with co-workers Daily care for infants including by not limited to feeding and diaper changing Assistant Teacher qualifications: Must be at least 21 years old Must have at least a High School Diploma Must be Fingerprinted by IdentoGo At least 1 year of experience working with young children
