Director/VP of Multifamily Development
ROLEThe Director / Vice President of Development will lead the sourcing and execution of Class A multifamily development projects across the Dallas-Fort Worth market.This role works directly with the principals to build and execute the firm’s development pipeline. The position is both strategic and hands-on, with responsibility across the full development lifecycle.Title will be based on experience, track record, and ability to source and close new opportunities.RESPONSIBILITIESDeal Sourcing and Pipeline DevelopmentIdentify and pursue new multifamily development opportunities across DFW Lead site sourcing, market analysis, and financial feasibility Build and maintain relationships with brokers, landowners, municipalities, and capital partners Drive LOIs, contracts, and early-stage underwriting Development ExecutionLead projects from acquisition through stabilization Ensure all due diligence is completed to support entitlements and development Manage design, entitlements, and consultant teams Coordinate with construction manager and third-party general contractor through execution and delivery Partner with property management during lease-up and stabilization Financial Analysis and Capital CoordinationPrepare and maintain financial models, including cash flow projections and investment analysis Evaluate returns, risks, and entitlement considerations Support debt and equity execution in coordination with the capital markets team Participate in investment committee meetings and present project updates Project Management and ReportingManage budgets, schedules, and reporting across all phases Oversee construction draw process and lender reporting Communicate key risks and issues to principals and stakeholders Lead OAC meetings and conduct regular site visits Market Leadership and StrategyDrive DFW pipeline strategy and annual development targets Represent the firm across the DFW development community Build long-term relationships through industry engagement Legal and Transaction ExecutionNegotiate or support negotiation of contracts, easements, loan documents, and joint venture agreements Manage pre-entitlement process including pursuit budgeting and forecasting Lease-Up and StabilizationProvide guidance to property management through pre-leasing, lease-up, stabilization, and disposition VP-LEVEL EXPECTATIONSDemonstrated ability to source and close development opportunities Active relationships with brokers and capital partners in DFW Ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior team members Meaningful contribution to firm strategy and investment decisions QUALIFICATIONS7 to 10 years of multifamily development experience for Director 10 to 15+ years of multifamily development experience for VP Strong financial modeling and underwriting capability Deep understanding of the full development lifecycle Strong communication and relationship management skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines High level of ownership and accountability
