Job TitleData Security EngineerOverviewAs a senior data security engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, deploying, and operating security solutions for various Department of the Navy clients in the Indo-Pacific region. Your expertise in data security tools and endpoint detection and response will be essential in monitoring, detecting, and responding to cyber threats that could compromise data, systems, or mission objectives. You will develop standard operating procedures and configurations to establish a robust zero trust security posture, collaborate with a multidisciplinary zero trust engineering team to enhance system design and operations, and mentor the next generation of cybersecurity engineers. A bachelor's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or Engineering is preferred and can substitute for experience.Clearance RequirementsThis role requires an active Secret clearance. The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is necessary for this opportunity.Work ArrangementThis is an on-site position.ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, and configure data security solutions to protect sensitive information and systems Use Elastic for visibility and analytics to monitor security events Implement Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools such as Forcepoint, Trellix, or Symantec Conduct cyber event analytics and develop workflows for incident response Document and diagram security workflows and processes Collaborate with zero trust engineering teams to recommend and implement security enhancements Create standard operating procedures and configurations for security operations Mentor junior cybersecurity engineers to develop their skills and knowledge Required Qualifications3+ years of experience designing, deploying, and configuring data security solutions Experience with Elastic for visibility and analytics Experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools, such as Forcepoint, Trellix, or Symantec Experience in cyber event analytics and workflow development Experience documenting and diagramming workflow processes Secret clearance Desired Skills5+ years of experience in data security solutions deployment and configuration Experience working in federal, DoD, or IC agency environments Managing and maintaining containerization solutions Knowledge of Virtru Data Security Platform (DSP) and Kafka Familiarity with Trusted Data Format (TDF) and Attribute Based Access Control (ABAC) Knowledge of Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel Understanding of federal information security policies, standards, procedures, directives, frameworks, and risk management processes Top Secret clearance Certifications such as CISSP, GSE, CASP+ or similar advanced security credentials Why ApplyThis opportunity offers the chance to work on critical cybersecurity initiatives supporting national security in a dynamic, mission-focused environment.
