We invite you to join the team where you can build, innovate, and secure your career.Sentar is seeking a Linux Administrator in Charleston!Role Description:Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and their components to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.Conduct regular system monitoring to verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.Administer Linux-based services, including Apache, NGINX, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Implement and oversee backup and recovery solutions.Regularly apply OS patches/upgrades and update administrative tools and utilities.Carry out system upgrades and configurations as required.Monitor and evaluate system performance, providing statistics and reports.Keep operational, configuration, or other procedures up to date.Execute regular file archival and purging as needed.Manage and verify the effectiveness of security solutions, such as firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.Develop and maintain installation and configuration proceduresCollaborate with network engineering, business application, and database administration teams to ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of Linux systems to meet business needs.Document system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.Address and resolve technical issues swiftly and efficiently.Plan and schedule the installation of new or modified virtual service deployments, operating systems, and application software.Manage accounts and network rights.Oversee system resources, including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.Implement security procedures and tools.Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures. Resolve significant hardware/software interface and interoperability issues.Ensure systems' availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency, and maintain systems configuration.Manage the installation and integration of system fixes. Qualifications:Clearance Level: Secret with eligibility for upgrade to Top Secret (TS)Education: N/ACertification: Must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II and DoD 8140 CSSP Auditor compliant certifications.Experience:Proficiency in Linux operating systems specifically with Red HatExperience with Linux server administrationKnowledge of DNS, DHCP, and other Linux-based servicesExperience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and ESXiStrong understanding of network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP/S, etc.)Experience with shell scripting and automation using AnsibleExcellent troubleshooting skillsStrong documentation skillsContainer orchestration and container deployments Highly desired skills:Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid environmentsKnowledge of database management (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)Familiarity with ITIL processes and practicesUnderstanding of cybersecurity principles and best practicesFamiliarity with Confluence and JiraExperience working in classified environmentsCertifications such as Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or CompTIA Linux+ Benefits at Sentar: Our unique ownership model attracts top talent, giving employees the freedom to take initiative and drive meaningful improvements.
