Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager

Job Description Salary: $80,000 - $125,000We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role works closely with the Project Manager, Superintendent, and field teams to coordinate technical and administrative aspects of the project.The Project Engineer/Assistant Project Manager plays a key role in managing documentation, facilitating communication, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in coordinating project activities and trade partnersParticipate in project meetings, track action items, and ensure follow-throughManage RFIs, submittals, procurement, and shop drawings, ensuring timely and accurate processingMaintain organized project documentation, logs, and records in Procore or similar systemsAssist with project scheduling, tracking progress, and identifying potential delaysSupport change order management, cost tracking, and budget alignmentReview drawings and specifications to identify conflicts or missing informationCoordinate inspections, permits, and compliance documentationAssist field teams in maintaining quality standards and resolving issuesPromote and support jobsite requirements and safety initiativesQualifications:Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred)13 years of construction experience in a project engineering or coordination roleFamiliarity with construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and project workflowsProficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Excel, or similar toolsAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawingsStrong organizational, communication, and time management skillsCollaborative, solutions-oriented mindsetValid drivers license and ability to travel to project sitesWhy Join Us:Hands-on experience on complex construction projectsDirect mentorship from experienced Project Managers and SuperintendentsClear path for career growth and advancementCollaborative team environment with strong leadership supportCompetitive compensation and benefitsWhat We Offer:401K with matchingHealthcarePaid vacations and holidaysPerformance bonusAbout Us:We are a General Contractor with over 30 years of experience delivering complex public and institutional projects across K12, higher education, healthcare, and civic markets.
