This position is accountable to drive profitable sales growth for our customers and Owens Corning by providing customer inspired solutions while executing on Owens Corning sales and marketing initiatives for the Foamular business. This candidate must be willing to support our customer segmentation and key account strategy. The Area Sales Manager must establish and maintain existing relationships with customers in the territory and develop new customer relationships to meet our growth agenda. The candidate must be comfortable having conversation with our customers leadership and develop strategies for growth. Product knowledge, application, building science, financial business acumen and the ability to develop industry / market knowledge and opportunity analyses are critical to help our customers be successful.Job ResponsibilitiesStrategically using customer relationships to execute your annual sales plan, while helping your customers achieve their success.Driving growth within the building materials industry; providing added value to OC and your customers.Executing price strategy and offering customer insights.Growing with existing customers while developing new customer opportunities.Utilizing the knowledge of your market's strengths and weaknesses to win.Skills and Expertise Necessary to SucceedLooking for candidates with years of proven experience in driving results through the entire sales process, from cold calling to closing, with a focus on selling the value of a product or service to meet customer needs.Listening skills that allow you to understand, diagnose, and solve customer problems.Driving success in business with a clear and intentional customer or territory strategy.Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships.Ability to make persuasive product presentations.Conducts themselves with the highest ethical and moral standards.Business RequirementsBachelor's degree in business or related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will also be considered.Ideal candidate must be located within Chicago, IL; Milwaukee, WI; Minneapolis, MN or surrounding areas.Position is home office based with the ability to travel overnight.Ability to travel up to 65% (within territory).Ability to work across geographic and cultural boundaries.Direct sales experience 3-5 years preferred.Owens Corning is an equal opportunity employer.
