With approximately $500M in assets, the business is continuing to invest in its finance function as it evolves and scales.Why This Role?This is a great opportunity to step into a visible accounting leadership role within a collaborative and mission-driven environment.You’ll work closely with the Controller to support the day-to-day running of the accounting function, while also helping to enhance processes, strengthen controls, and support the team’s development over time.The environment is high-volume and structured, offering a level of complexity that will keep the role engaging, without losing the stability you’d expect from an established organization.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport leadership and development of the accounting teamOversee the month-end close process and help drive continued improvementsMaintain strong GL integrity, controls, and complianceAssist with audit coordination and external reporting requirementsIdentify opportunities to improve process efficiency and accuracyPartner with cross-functional teams across finance and operationsSupport ongoing system and process enhancementsIdeal Background7-12+ years of progressive accounting experienceCPA preferredBackground in public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier) strongly preferredExperience in nonprofit, professional services, or high-volume environmentsStrong technical accounting foundation (US GAAP, close, controls)Prior experience leading or mentoring team membersExperience with ERP systems; NetSuite exposure is advantageousComfortable working in a structured, deadline-driven environmentStrong communication skills and collaborative approachThe OpportunityThis role offers a strong balance of hands-on accounting, team leadership, and process improvement, with the opportunity to grow alongside an evolving finance function.You’ll gain exposure to a complex and interesting operating model, while working in an environment that values stability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Location: New York, NY (Remote- ~1 day per month onsite)
