Physical Therapist - Wellton, AZ

This contract opportunity offers a Physical Therapist role focused on acute inpatient care with a reputable healthcare facility located in Wellton, AZ. This position entails evaluating, planning, and administering physical therapy treatment for patients admitted through emergency and medical-surgical units, addressing diverse case types such as total joints, CVA, CHF, COPD, and sepsis. The ideal candidate will function within a collaborative interdisciplinary team, ensuring patient-centered care grounded in clinical expertise and evidence-based practice.Key Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to establish functional abilities, limitations, and individualized plans of care with measurable goals.Deliver skilled therapeutic interventions considering patients' physical, cultural, and psychosocial needs, adjusting treatment plans based on clinical progress.Document treatment and patient progress timely, adhering to regulatory standards and departmental policies.Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to support continuity of care.Supervise and delegate responsibilities to PTAs, therapy technicians, and students, ensuring competency and safe treatment delivery.Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and maintain expected productivity standards.Demonstrate adaptability in managing caseloads and scheduling, including occasional weekend coverage.Qualifications and Experience:Graduate of an APTA-accredited Physical Therapy program or equivalent.Current, active Physical Therapy license in the state of Arizona is mandatory.AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Minimum of one year of professional experience post-clinicals in acute care or related settings.Strong understanding of pathology, lab values, and effective interdisciplinary communication.Ability to manage a daily caseload of 8-10 patients.Schedule:Full-time with 5x8 hour shifts and flexible weekend coverage 2-3 days per month OR 4x10 hour shifts (Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday).Holiday rotation required.About Wellton, AZ:Wellton provides a welcoming community atmosphere in a scenic desert setting in southwestern Arizona.
