Additional information on the agency can be found on www.mncppc.org.The Aquatics and Athletic Facilities Division of M-NCPPC is seeking a Recreation/Park Facility Manager III (Regional Manager). This position will be responsible for multiple facilities that offer programming and training opportunities for the community.Our ideal candidate will provide high level professional recreation management for facilities across Prince George's County, which include two ice rinks, a trap and skeet center, and an outdoor aquatic venue. In addition, this candidate will lead work groups that assist with planning and the organization of programming for the division.The M-NCPPC offers a competitive salary range of $75,336 to $135,882 at the Regional Manager level with an excellent benefits package including generous leave, extensive health coverage, deferred compensation plan, employer's retirement plan, and work-life programs. The Commission is an Equal Opportunity Employer and encourages applications from underrepresented groups, women, and persons with disabilities.Examples Of Important DutiesSupervises the operations of multiple facilities crafting operational goals and objectives while providing leadership to facility management teams to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.Works with multiple divisions and facility maintenance personnel to ensure that the facilities' systems are operating properly and supervises staff on the day-to-day maintenance and repair of the facilities. Actively coordinates major maintenance, repairs, and construction projects.Supervises full-time and intermittent staff which entails but is not limited to the recruitment, selecting, training, and evaluating. Also, plans, schedules, and assigns work for staff. Counselling staff on opportunities to improve performance and initiates disciplinary action when vital.Sets programs standards for the facilities and ensures that programming staff offer a wide variety of cultural, interpretive, historical, or recreational programs to meet the needs of the community.Regularly meets with citizens, community groups, and business groups to identify needs, plan programs, and answer questions about the facilities. Investigates complaints involving highly sensitive issues and problems.Collaborates to develop marketing strategies for facilities and programs to increase usage and attendance.Conducts frequent inspections to supervise day-to-day operations and programs of facilities. Advises managers on ways to tackle technical problems, follow administrative procedures, and improve operations and management of facilities.Keeps supervisor advised about meaningful matters. Makes recommendations for new or revised management processes, policies, training programs, or new equipment.Reviews purchasing and cash handling processes of each facility and ensure their compliance with departmental policy.Leads assigned work groups to provide recommendations, implement initiatives and improve divisional and departmental operations.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Parks Management, Recreation Management, Facilities Management, Education, Business Administration, Physical Education, Communication, Leisure Services, or any related field.Four (4) years of responsible professional experience working in a facility related to parks, recreation, leisure services, or area of required specialty (e.g., arts, performing arts, equestrian, tennis, aquatics, gymnastics, ice rinks); including two (2) years as a facility manager, program coordinator or supervisor.An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total eight (8) years.Valid driver's license in accordance with both State and Commission rules and regulations. Driver's license must be unencumbered by restrictions, revocations, suspensions or points that could limit the employee's ability to drive Commission vehicles or perform driving duties required of the position.Contingent upon area of assignment, some positions in this class may require valid: (a) operating license (e.g., county pool operator, childcare license) as appropriate; (b) First Aid, CPR, automated external defibrillator (AED) certifications; or (c) certifications as related to assignment (e.g., Lifeguard Instruction, Fundamentals of Gymnastics, Childcare).Pass Commission medical exam.Supplemental InformationClass/Specification: Recreation/Park Facility Manager III May be subject to medical, drug and alcohol testing.
