NY - Inpatient Mental Health RN 7p-7a

State of NY Covid Mandate applies. No medical declinations allowed. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Previous hospital RN experience is preferred and a desire to work with patients with various mental and behavioral conditions focusing on patient interactions. Possess a thorough knowledge of nursing principles, ability to provide quality patient care which includes facilitating social and emotional needs, leading education groups, medication administration, and evaluating patient progress. Must be able to recognize safety issues to self and others; maintain a safe environment through the use of monitoring tools, and de-escalation techniques when necessary. Assess and implement use of equipment to move patients in a safe manner. Collaborate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams in order to create supportive environments for the patient, provide social support, and encourage participation in unit activities. Ability to function well in stressful situations, have good creative problem solving skills. Demonstrate leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate. May be required to assume duties as a charge nurse. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills required. BLS required or obtained within 3 months of hire or transfer. Complete Preventing and Managing Crisis Situations within 6 months of hire or transfer and completion of Center for Practice Innovations Focus on Integrated Treatment basic modules within 12 months of hire or transfer.Come work at Samaritan where travelers tell us they love doing their assignment here!
