In this role, you'll assess adherence to Organizational standards, evaluate the integrity of internal existing controls, and identify gaps that could impact operational, financial, or reputational risk. You'll collaborate with business partners to understand existing remediation plans and design and implement remediation plans for -making a direct impact on safeguarding the organization and supporting its long term resilience. In addition, your role will assist with the documentation of existing "end to end" processes, controls, reporting, and governance with integration into Best Egg and Barclays control systems.Accountabilities:o Knowledge of business areas, products, processes and platforms to be able to assess risko Collaboration with various stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve overall controleffectiveness through detailed documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.o Identification and investigation of potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls topromote continuous improvement and risk mitigation aligned to the bank's control framework,prioritised by its severity to disrupt bank operations.o Development of reports to communicate key findings from risk assessment including controlweaknesses and recommendations to control owners, senior management, and other stakeholders.o Execution of reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework alignedto established and evolving policies, regulation, and best practice.o Implementation of adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and set appropriate methodologyof assessing controls against the Controls Framework.Expectations:o To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility foroperational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.o Influence a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills todeliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Set objectives and coach employees inpursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination ofreward outcomeso Lead collaborative assignments and guide team membersthrough structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation tocomplete assignments. They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifyinga combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.o Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalatedissues.Specific to this role:o Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control andgovernance agenda.o Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.o Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areascoordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.o Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed withbusiness activity and the business strategy.o Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and externalsources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problemscreatively and effectively.o Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information orinformation that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.o Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.To be successful in this role, you should have:o A background in financial services with experience in risk oversight and control activities, includingissue resolution, documentation of safeguards, and Risk and Control Self-Assessmento The ability to review processes, recognize potential risks, and establish the safeguards needed toreduce those risks. This includes evaluating requirements within Barclays Standards and ensuringexisting documented safeguards meet expectationso Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and subject matter expertsto successfully complete assignmentsSome other highly valued skills may include:o Prior gap assessment experience (preferred)o FinTech experience (preferred)o Prior Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) experienceYou may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls,change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.$115,000 - $130,000 a yearIn addition to semi-monthly salary payments, this position is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
