Job SummaryThis position is responsible for the correct assignment of shipping methods to packages being shipped as well as ensuring that the package meets the company's standards for appearance, quality and security. The Shipping Coordinator also makes sure that orders leave the facility the same day they are deposited in the shipping area and that the shipped orders are executed in the shipping system. If an error is encountered during the shipping function, the Shipping Coordinator is responsible for correction of the error, prior to shipping. This position also handles items that are returned as undeliverable, by contacting the appropriate Account/Project Manager.Duties And ResponsibilitiesCorrectly ship all boxes to proper designation (Dimensions, proper ship method, and ensure properly sealed)Apply correct label to boxProper escalation of any unresolved shipment issues to the Supervisor, Account/Project Manager or IT (As needed)Execute all reships and inventory orders dailyComplete returns log daily and e-mail to appropriate personnelMonitor returns log for special instruction from Account/Project Managers and take appropriate actionMaintain cleanliness of shipping areaClose out shipping computers nightlyEducation And ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED equivalentPrevious shipping experience with knowledge for UPS/FedEx systems is a plusQualifications, Skills, Abilities And CompetenciesAbility to communicate, understand and follow instructions with minimal supervisionAbility to communicate (Read, speak, write, understand) in EnglishAbility to lift minimum of 50 lbsBasic computer skillsAbility to perform basic mathematical calculationsDetail oriented and Safety consciousAble to stand or be on your feet for extended periods of timeAvailable for weekend work shifts & overtimeForklift experience preferred, but not required.
