In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure database systems, with a particular emphasis on AWS cloud services such as RDS for PostgreSQL and SQL databases. Your expertise will support the development of data pipelines, infrastructure, and analytics, enabling data-driven decision-making across various projects. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including application developers, data scientists, and project managers, to ensure the seamless flow and accessibility of data. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong background in data management, scripting, and cloud technologies, thriving in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently and effectively.QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience in database development and management.Proven expertise with PostgreSQL and SQL databases, including working with views, triggers, and stored procedures.Strong proficiency in SQL scripting, database indexing, and optimization techniques.Experience developing and interfacing with APIs to support application development and integration.Demonstrated ability to create, modify, and manage data structures and load routines tailored for business needs.Deep understanding of relational data, including data cleansing, transformation, and processing.Hands-on experience working within AWS environments, particularly with RDS and other cloud services.Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies and tools.Excellent collaboration skills with diverse teams, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph are mandatory requirements.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and manage robust database systems, emphasizing AWS RDS for PostgreSQL and SQL databases to support organizational needs.Manage data structures, load routines, and ETL processes to ensure data integrity, availability, and security for application development and analytical purposes.Collaborate with application development teams to integrate databases with various applications and APIs, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility.Work with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI to develop dashboards and reports that facilitate data-driven insights.Support cloud migration efforts, including data migration strategies and implementation within AWS environments.Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and implementing best practices for scalability and security.Participate in Agile sprint planning, stand-ups, and reviews, providing technical expertise to ensure timely project delivery.Maintain comprehensive documentation of database schemas, configurations, and procedures for ongoing maintenance and compliance.Stay updated with the latest advancements in database technologies, cloud services, and security protocols to continually enhance system performance and security.BenefitsAt The Josef Group, we value our employees and offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and professional growth.
