This role assists with daily accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close activities. The Assistant Controller helps prepare financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring accounts payable and receivable, collaborating with project managers on job costing and budgets, and supporting cash flow management and forecasting. The role also contributes to process improvements, assists with audits and regulatory filings, and works closely with leadership to provide financial insights that support decision-making.QualificationsStrong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and job costing in a construction, engineering, or project-based environment is preferred.Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and related office tools.Ability to analyze financial data, identify variances, and present clear, concise reports to management.Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced setting.Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across finance, operations, and project teams.Demonstrated integrity, discretion, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.Previous experience in an assistant controller, senior accountant, or similar role is strongly beneficial.
