The hospital is a Level IV Trauma Center with 24/7 emergency services and a broad range of inpatient and specialty care offerings.Position Summary SAMGI is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Trauma Surgeon to provide trauma and acute surgical coverage at JFK Memorial Hospital. This role is part of SAMGI's surgical hospitalist/trauma program, delivering consistent, high-quality trauma coverage through a shift-based model. This opportunity offers predictable scheduling, competitive per-shift compensation, and the support of an established national surgical organization.Responsibilities:Provide trauma surgery coverage for a Level IV Trauma CenterEvaluate and manage trauma patients in the emergency department and inpatient settingsPerform operative and non-operative trauma care as indicatedCollaborate closely with emergency medicine, anesthesia, ICU, and hospital staffParticipate in call coverage during assigned shiftsDeliver timely, safe, and compliant patient care in alignment with SAMGI and hospital standardsSchedule & Compensation:Compensation: $3,000 per shiftAnnual Commitment: 104 shifts per yearShift-based schedule with defined coverage expectationsQualifications:MD or DOBoard Certified or Board Eligible in General SurgeryPrior trauma experience requiredATLS required (or ability to obtain)Active California medical license or ability to obtainAbility to obtain hospital privileges and credentialingPractice Model:Employed or independent contractor arrangement through SAMGI (structure dependent on final agreement)Malpractice coverage provided in accordance with SAMGI policyAdministrative, scheduling, and operational support provided by SAMGI
