They’re seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer – Upper Body Tech Lead to own the mechanical architecture, integration, and verification of the robot’s torso, head, and arm systems.This is a highly visible technical leadership role where you’ll combine advanced robotics, high-density packaging, and industrial design to help shape how humans and robots interact in the real world.Why Join?Lead the development of core upper-body systems for a cutting-edge humanoid platform.Solve complex integration challenges involving compute, batteries, sensors, thermal systems, and dynamic mechanisms.Influence the visual identity and functional design of a next-generation robot.Work alongside elite robotics engineers tackling commercialization, scalability, and real-world deployment.Competitive compensation, equity, and strong benefits on offer.The RoleAs the technical lead for the upper body stack, you’ll own the full lifecycle from architecture and mechanism design through integration, testing, and validation.You’ll bridge Industrial Design and Engineering, translating futuristic concepts into manufacturable, high-performance hardware while solving some of the toughest packaging and dynamic design challenges in robotics.What You’ll DoDefine the mechanical architecture for the torso, head, and arm assemblies.Lead trade-off decisions around mass distribution, range of motion, rigidity, and thermal performance.Drive the integration of compute systems, batteries, sensors, and harnessing within highly constrained spaces.Design high-performance robotic mechanisms capable of handling extreme dynamic loads.Own DVT planning and validation including environmental, vibration, and lifecycle testing.Lead surfacing integration and ensure aesthetic intent translates into production-ready A-surfaces.Mentor engineers and establish best practices for high-performance robotic design.What We’re Looking For7+ years of experience designing complex robotic or electromechanical systems.Strong experience with robotic arms, dynamic mechanisms, or high-DOF systems.Exceptional skills in tight-space packaging and systems integration.Strong understanding of kinematics, structures, dynamics, and electromechanical packaging.If you’re excited by the challenge of designing the mechanical systems that will define the future of humanoid robotics, apply today for a confidential discussion.
