THE COMPANY:hiyo started when three change-makers had one disruptive idea: rethink the way the world drinks.in april 2019, two of hiyo’s co-founders, evan quinn and george youmans, had relatives hospitalized with alcohol-related issues, which caused both to cut back on their drinking in solidarity with their families. in their late 20s and social to boot, the two soon discovered the massive need for an alternative to alcohol that actually deserved its place at the table. to them, the existing choices all felt like sacrifices, and each one was missing the main reason they wanted to drink—the feeling.intrigued by their newfound sober curiosity and the lack of options in the non-alcoholic beverage space, they began brainstorming product concepts alongside their close friend from college, cygne cooper. this marked the genesis of hiyo, a non-alcoholic social tonic which produces a similar stress-relieving, mood-boosting feeling that people usually seek from alcohol, but instead from healthy, functional ingredients.the three co-founders have spent years honing their proprietary blend of adaptogens, nootropics, and botanicals to achieve the optimal feel-good “float” effect. with six functionals at the forefront of this feeling, hiyo launched its first three fruit-forward flavors in may 2021. since then, hiyo has added three new flavors to its growing line of functional seltzers while showing up in thousands of stores and social spaces across the country. it is currently one of the fastest-growing beverage brands in the united states.THE ROLE:the district sales manager (dsm) plays a critical role within the company, responsible for managing the local/regional territory with a focus on maximizing sales and brand awareness. this is achieved through three primary areas: excellent store-level execution, managing and training our distributor partners to exceed sales and executional goals, and amplifying hiyo’s brand awareness.THE RESPONSIBILITIES:- lead in-store execution and brand growth in your respective territory, including but not limited to selling in displays, building displays, securing cold facings, void management, selling in cold equipment, and supporting distributor partner sales teams managers with in-store inventory and overall execution; required time in trade with in-store execution will vary by territory- build and maintain strong partnerships with retailers, distributor sales teams, and merchandising partners that will support the overall growth of hiyo within your assigned territory- educate and train distributor and merchandising sales teams about hiyo through regularly scheduled “work-withs,” “ride-alongs,” and sales meetings- ensure everyday and promotional pricing is executed properly through on- and off-shelf tags- utilize syndicated data to maximize all brand opportunities and direct our sales teams to effectively impact the market- identify and evaluate event opportunities to represent the brand in your territory- participate in local and regional crew drives and sales blitzes to achieve market development goals- maintain operational discipline by effectively prioritizing high-impact opportunities across multiple workstreams and deadlines- drive execution against monthly and annual strategic goals, ensuring accountability for both individual and company-level performance metricsTHE QUALIFICATIONS:- based in the new york metropolitan area- access to a laptop, phone, and reliable internet- 2+ years of sales experience in the beverage industry with prior distributor experience required- experience planning and executing sales strategies, including high level in-store execution within large and small format accounts- proficient with microsoft office suite (excel, powerpoint, and word) and industry systems and platforms (repsly, spins, notion, retailer scan data and more)- must possess a car and valid state driver’s license for the posted state or territory, and reliable transportation in accordance with state requirements for motor vehicles- thrives in fast-paced, high-intensity environments and is quick to problem-solve under pressure- interest in the food & beverage, health & wellness, and no/low alcohol space is a plusthis role is perfect for someone who has a desire to succeed, passion for brand building, and a strong work ethic. join hiyo at the ground floor as we build the next iconic beverage brand in cpg.
